Dora Mendez - Colombia

We feel fortunate to have bought this coffee through our friends at Langdon and Cedro Alto since the first year it was imported to the UK. It is without a doubt one of the coffees we most look forward to and it always delivers!
We've been loving this coffee on both filter and espresso, with notes of strawberry jam and nectarine, reminding us of a classic: eton mess!

Every Coffee Has A Story

Cedro Alto are not importers, traders, brokers, exporters or "coyotes". They are a vertically integrated organisation made up of many small-scale coffee farmers that could never have direct access to roasters willing to pay fair prices for their microlots independently. They have banded together and enlisted the help of some non-farmers to challenge the traditional supply chain, reorganising the coffee trade in a way that encourages progress for the community and quality coffee for the world.

The fact that we discussed at length the way we wanted to market this coffee shows it complexity. We veered from highlighting vibrancy in its juicy orange and tangy raspberry notes, a perfect late Summer brew; later being enamoured with its white sugary sweetness with Autumnal notes of Toffee Apple. The expression we settled on highlights notes of Strawberry Jam, Nectarine, Custard Creams and Eton Mess with plenty of Toffee notes! We hope drinking this delicious brew, regardless of the season, will bring you back to sunnier and warmer days!

What Does Our Colour System Mean?

We categorise each coffee into a colour system that identifies the 'vibe' and general tasting notes of that category of coffee. It can also have a relation to what brewing method works best, the processes used to create it or the varietal of the actual bean. Watch the video below to hear from a member of the team on what exactly this colour represents.
