Ichuga AB - Kenya

Sale price£40.00

Size: Kg
Grind: Wholebean

Located in Nyeri, near the town of Karatina, the Ichuga Station is 1700 metres above sea level and receives cherries from local farmers who each farm on coffee gardens, on average, smaller than 1 hectare.

This coffee is graded as AB which means that the coffee beans are classified to fall between screen sizes 15 and 18 (around 6/7mm in size). It is common practice to grade coffee this way in Kenya.

We’ve found this to be vibrant and full of citric and berry notes. We think this will make a superb filter highlighting notes like Mandarin and Blackberries, and if you fancy trying on espresso you can expect a rich syrupy affair reminiscent of plum jam.

RED Coffee

what does our colour system mean?

We categorise each coffee into a colour system that identifies the 'vibe' and general tasting notes of that category of coffee. It can also have a relation to what brewing method works best, the processes used to create it or the varietal of the actual bean.
