Montebello - Colombia

Espresso
Sale price£10.50
We are delighted to present Montebello, thanks to our friends at Langdon Coffee Merchants and Racafé. This is a coffee we cupped in the roastery for the first time in May. When we first tried this coffee, we knew it was a perfect fit for our 'red category', due to its bold fruity flavours, and syrupy characteristics.
We've been loving Montebello on espresso, due its creaminess and full body. It makes a delicious and balanced flat white. Montebello also makes up half of Guilty Pleasure, paring incredibly well with Illama. Montebello is a delightful indulgence that doesn't compromise on flavour or body - the perfect addition to any coffee lover's repertoire. Its creamy smoothness and balanced complexity make it the ultimate companion for any espresso-based drink.

Every Coffee Has A Story

Discover More | Montebello - Colombia

Nestled in the misty Colombian mountains, less than an hour away from Medellín lies Montebello - the miracle of the mountains! Here, you'll find lush terrain and cascading waters from the la Honda and la Miel rivers, not to mention Antioquia's oldest chapel.

Montebello is a proud agricultural hub, boasting ancestral crops like coffee, avocado, and hydrangeas, as well as more modern staples like beans and maize. This coffee comes from the Las Hamacas and Sabanitas estates, where the owners are dedicated to being environmental and socially responsible with zero synthetic chemicals used for pest control, and they hire people from the indigenous reservation Marcelino Tascón, from the Embera community, located in Valparaiso municipality.

The wet milling process is traditional, and the beans get a long fermentation and a sun-dried finish in parabolic beds. It all contributes to the coffee's complexity, like its mineral-rich volcanic soils, high altitude, and the tropical air masses from the Caribbean.

What Does Our Colour System Mean?

We categorise each coffee into a colour system that identifies the 'vibe' and general tasting notes of that category of coffee. It can also have a relation to what brewing method works best, the processes used to create it or the varietal of the actual bean. Watch the video below to hear from a member of the team on what exactly this colour represents.
