This coffee comes from Don Pedro Moreno, one of the pioneers of specialty coffee in Santa Bárbara, Honduras. Now 94, Pedro was growing specialty coffee long before the region earned its reputation as one of the country's most celebrated growing areas, and after more than 60 years on the farm he's passed that knowledge on to his children and grandchildren.

The family farms the slopes of Santa Bárbara mountain, which rises to 2,600 metres above Lake Yojoa and is often wrapped in clouds. The forest surrounding the farms is protected as part of a national park, and we're proud to be roasting coffee from a producer who helped put this region on the map.
We were lucky enough to meet and visit Don Pedro at his farm this past year.
